3 Minutes to read

Now that people can read the time on their phones, watches appear to have lost their value other than their status and fashion addition. People wear them less compared to several years ago. However, a watch is one of the many accessories that completes ones look and the main function of telling the time is very handy, literally.
I was never a watch person so I decided to take a leap because you never know what something is like until you try it. So, I put in new batteries and wore a watch my dad got me for my birthday several years ago. The feeling of having a watch on my wrist was unusual. It was heavy, it felt uncomfortable, sweaty on hot days and constant shaking to get it in place. But as time went by, I noticed the uncomforting feeling less and less and begun to use the watch to check the time rather than my phone. In a way it made me feel like I was getting my shit together. Those small steps that eventually build up such as buying a diary, writing down the things I have to do, my plans, my schedule. I began to feel like I was getting it.
As time passed, it became a habit to put on my watch after a shower and aside from its glorified use from rappers and celebrities, I began to look into finer watches. Rolex, Omega and Patek to name a few became watches that I adored. I had seen a few online but the feeling you get when you see and hold one in person is surreal. The intricacies and understanding the pieces that all come together for it to self-wind was truly an art in itself.
I highly suggest you give it a go, whether you want to start with a small watch or something a little pricier to suit your lifestyle, a watch is something that is needed in everybody’s wardrobe.
Below are a few watches that I have chosen based on their name, design and reliability.
The watches mentioned above range from moderate to astronomically expensive. However, it’s a good idea to work towards purchasing a watch to reward yourself for the things you have accomplished and it gives you a goal to work towards.
